With the project ‘Hits of Sunshine’ (2017) the camera is pointed at the sun.

Different from former works this piece is once again made with optics. ‘Hits of Sunshine’ is using the absence of observation, instead the camera gets the time to chemically and physically run through a (controlled) process.

The apparatus is the only observer, he is the only “witness”. The work is balanced between factuality and illusion. A connection arises between science (physics, chemicals), the camera (optics, time) and observation (gaze). All these elements generate photographs which are not based on a reality but are born in their own matter.
